‘Present Tense’

‘Present Tense’ tells the story of Mina, a young unemployed woman who lives in Istanbul and takes a job reading fortunes in coffee cups to find a way to start a new life. Belmin Söylemez’s first feature film won the prestigious New Director’s Prize at the 56th San Francisco International Film Festival.

‘Present Tense’ was also crowned with the Yılmaz Güney Special Jury Award and Critics Prize in the National Competition of the 22nd Golden Boll FF. The film also brought Sanem Öge best actress awards in the 31st Istanbul FF and the 24th Ankara FF.
